'It's a Boy' Card

The other card we made in class was this circular side step card using patterned card stock and a few dies.

The dies used were Memory Box Kites and Simon Says Stamp Small Banners. Both stamps used were local and stamped using Stampin' Up! Night of Navy Ink Pad.

I scaled this card down so as to fit into a standard envelope and therefore save postage charges. One could do a lot with this side step, but this was meant to be quick and simple and it was!

Thanks for the visit and enjoy the weekend!

Sweet Little Angel

I was asked to come up with a couple of easy cards for this months card group, especially baby cards.

This card was a quick one, using a digital image and a couple of dies and was so well received.

The Bow and Baby Clothes are from Memory Box and the lacy circles are a Marianne Die. I embossed the pink card using a Sizzix Stampin Up Folder - Tulip Border and I stamped "its a Girl" using Hero Art Bubblegum Ink Pad and a stamp from a local company, Best Rubber Stamps.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. Wherever you are in the world, I wish you a great Friday!

Tearful Goodbye!

We recently said goodbye to 'Scoopy' who moved to Cape Town to live with an awesome family who is expecting a baby boy soon. He decided to go down early so that he could 'supervise' the nursery decor and more importantly, arrange all the 'boy toys'. Some things only boys can do and he was looking forward to it. So, some sad goodbye's took place and if you would like to see some photo's and read about it, please click on the tab "MOZ BEARZ" above and you will be taken to the correct page with the photo's on it.

In the meantime, here is a photo of the family goodbye, without Mom, who was crying in the bedroom......

Back to School!

For those living in the northern hemisphere, Summer is over, almost, and it is back to school! With this in mind Sugar Creek Hollows challenge #68 this week is  'Back to School'.
We also have a Guest Designer, Mynette Kitchen, and her blog is 'Mynette Kitchen on a Stampage'. Please do pop over and take a look at her fabulous creation!

For my card this week, I had a fun time putting it all together!
I, once again, popped over to Digital Collage Studio and shopped for school related images with an 'old fashioned' lean, and came up with this card.

As I had so many images I wanted to use, I went with an easel card. The background of the card front I kept black and white, with the very cute blackboard group doing their sums and the bottom half of the card I used some text paper, die cut with a Spellbinders edge die. All the other images come off a sheet from DCS, which I fussy cut, inked the edges and mounted, some on foam squares and others direct to paper. The base of the card was covered with the text paper and the report card and book images added to the front end. It is in a way a CAS card (??) as there is no ribbon, flowers, bows, punch outs, pretty die cuts etc!
I enjoyed this card and I hope you enjoy looking at it too. Lots to study.

Please do pop over to visit my teamies blogs - links on the right side of my blog - to see what they have been up to. There are some amazing creations there that I hope will inspire you to enter into our challenge this week!

Challenges I wish to enter my card into :
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - Your Choice
Make it Monday - Anything goes
Woopsi Daisy Challenge - Back to School

Thanks so much for the visit and I hope to get over to your blog to reciprocate soon!

The Original Project

You will remember my rant about not being able to get anything together for the SCH Water, Water, Everywhere Challenge I am sure! So, here is the original project, which I abandoned as it was not coming together, or so I thought! I picked it up yesterday, added the flowers, sentiment and pearls and I present to you the Original Tag!

The image was from a set I bought for this post. I used some fabulous Core-denation card stock which I distressed some, added gauze and settled the distressed image on top of it. I also die cut the Umbrella from a Marianne Die, distressed it as well, added 1mm pearls and hooked out some little flowers to decorate it as well as adding a cluster to the circular sentiment. I think the ribbons threw me when I was working on this last time. I had wanted to bring in the stripey look and added these ribbon loops, but from there on, it fell apart. I must say I am very chuffed with the tag card now and wonder what all the fuss was, but because I am such a procrastinator, it really is so me to get into a tizzy over something as silly as this!
I do hope you've enjoyed the giggle with me and would love to hear which of the two projects you prefer.

Thanks for taking the time to visit, even with me  being so slack with blog posts. Life has been hectic, and now with a new puppy, very busy! I will share photo's in another post, but for now, warm hugs till next time!

Sweet Innocence

This week at Sugar Creek Hollow, we are looking for cards that reflect on "A Child's Life" for our Challenge #67. Our Challenge is sponsored by 'A Day for Daisies' who have the most amazing images ever! It was so hard to find just one that I could use, with such a wonderful choice available.

Eventually, I chose an image called "Mother's Day Flower" because I hoped to highlight the innocence of a child's love. To me, this innocence is part of 'A Child's Life' and it is something every Mother cherishes and prays will last forever.

I chose the peach/orange range of colors for the clothing as I had selected paper that I thought was suitable for the image. However, as always, I changed my mind and went back to find some other paper I thought would be more suitable. Flipping though the fabulous DCWV Fresh Floral Stack, I spied these two sheets and just had to use them and make them work!

The sentiment says it all - Treasure the Moment!

Please would you join in this challenge after you have visited my 'teamies' blogs (listed in the side bar on the right), to see what they have to share as inspiration for the challenge.

Thank you for popping in and have a fabulous week!
